Said birthday girl merely rolls her eyes. "Sure, you believe whatever you want to believe, guys," she says with a grin.

"At least that's one thing I don't have to worry about," says Danny sulkily.

"Well, we won fair and square, right, Jack?"

"Darn tootin'!" declares Jack. "Pret-ty fancy bowling there! Is that what you learn in vid-"

Jack's question is cut off by a discreet kick in the shins.

"Okay, kids!" Maddie calls loudly. "Time for cake and presents!"

After sharing a grin and a high five with Kelly, Dani leads the charge over to where the cake and presents are.

"Mhmm... Maddie did you bake the birthday cake?"

...Yeah, Dot's eyeing the birthday cake now.

Even after all those cookies she got to herself.

Danny is eyeing the cake in a different manner.

"There's not gonna be another... incident, is there?"

"Don't worry, sweetie, I tested it first."

"Good," Dani says in relief. Behind her, Everett and Kelly exchange unison Looks and shrugs.

Between Mairi and work, she gets a workout for 3 people.

"Another Incident?" Dot's just giving Maddie one raised eyebrow.

Danny mutters something about learning self-defense against buttercream frosting.

Jack, undeterred by awkward reminiscences, lights the candles. Since there are seventeen red candles on one side of the cake and fifteen blue candles on the other, this is done by means of a small ecto-powered blowtorch.

"Happy Birthday" is duly sung; the third line is a bit of a muddle as some people try to cram "Danny and Dani" or "Daniel and Danielle" into the time available, others compromise on "Dannies", and still others settle for singing one name and letting it do double duty.
