The pottery looks wonderful. I like the blue labyrinths and swirls.
The only thing I know about cutting down and removing bushes (and came in handy when I did it): don't cut the branches all the way down to the ground. Leave a few thick, sturdy branches to use as handles for pushing and pulling.
I really love the plated with the swirly design. Your pottery is really coming along.
Your garden well be fabulous in a month. And I'm sure you planted phlox - probably annual, although there is also perennial phlox that retrurns year after year.
