More Pottery!!!

These are the pieces I have at home as of tonight, minus the 3 I've given away.  The straighter brown cup there is already spoken for.

The cylinders are thrown on the wheel and the tray is rolled and shaped in a form.
At the shop I've got 4 dinner plates, 2 tiny trays, 1 tray like the blue one (but shallower), and 7 more cups in various stages of drying, glazing, and cooling.  The stencils are just yarn glued to a printed-out image from the computer:  glue it, seal it with more glue, press into clay form, smooth clay....voila!

Tonight I got ALL the things done I wanted to:  I painted the 6th of the cups that are only underglazed (I'm waiting to see if I want to high-fire them or use the low-fire glazes).  I got the glaze put on the first two labyrinth plates, so those will get fired and I'll get to bring them home.  I got the next 2 labyrinth plates smoothed, leathered, cleaned, and they're now drying and ready to be fired to bisque.  I got another little tray with a double spiral smoothed and cleaned.  There is nothing in a weird in-between place.

These are the cups that I'm waiting on a high-fire cup to be done before deciding what to do.  If the first one turns out, I might dip and high-fire them.  These are the two plates that I finished glazing tonight; they should be done by Thursday.

These are all (or almost all?) the things I made last Thursday.  Tonight was all about smoothing the patterns in the largest tray and the two dinner plates.  Once those are dried and fired to bisque, I'll get to do More Painting.  I'm really eager to get back on the wheel.
On Thursday I'll get to glaze a bunch of stuff that got fired and is cooling now, and I'll probably make a few little coasters if I get bored-ish.  So...I'm pretty happy!
The garden will need watering tomorrow, but it's doing pretty well.  I need to have Husband bring home a load of soil so I can plant SEEEEEEEDS.  Lots and LOTS of weeds are coming up, but I can't be CERTAIN what is weeds/grass and what is wee seedling flowers.  I know what is squash, cucumbers, and sugar snap peas...but I'm not sure what the rest looks like.

I'm going to spread wildflower seeds and phlox (or flax?) just to keep it colorful and so I don't have to weed (or don't have to *much*.  I'm also going to put in more Sweet William in the side bed along with zinnias and pink clover for Elf to make more flower crowns with.

I have plenty of basil coming up in my starters...now to figure out how to keep it alive beyond this...

And we're going to be able to bring in salad for the cats ALL THE TIME.

At the very bottom of the above photo are the peas and cucumbers.  There are a few bits of lettuce that have survived.  And there's lots of grass.

But the marigolds are pretty.

And Husband has agreed to remove the root ball of this ugly bush if I cut off and remove the foliage.  I'm going to put Russian Sage in there instead.

These still come up volunteer each year after they DIDN'T come up the year I planted them.  I like them and they're colorful, so I'm planting MORE!  Sweet William will be the all-summer pretty for the side garden.

So here's hoping I can keep some of this stuff alive...and maybe even get FOOD!  I've already  managed to kill a couple of the herbs in the house...too much water...not enough water....this was easier when I was a kid!
