My mom dewwta had back surgery at the beginning of May for long-term back pain that resulted from an L5 fracture. They inserted an apparatus to hold her L5 back where it should have been and keep it from slipping forward along S1 and causing pain, and added material to get L5 and S1 to fuse, along with carving out larger canals for the nerves to pass
