She's doing well and sounds very upbeat and hopeful (as usual--*grin*).

Her surgical pain is being controlled nicely with a topical anesthetic in the bandage as well as percocet, and the pain and numbness she'd been having in he rleg is entirely resolved.

She probably won't get to come visit in August, but she's doing great, and that's the BEST

My mom dewwta had back surgery at the beginning of May for long-term back pain that resulted from an L5 fracture. They inserted an apparatus to hold her L5 back where it should have been and keep it from slipping forward along S1 and causing pain, and added material to get L5 and S1 to fuse, along with carving out larger canals for the nerves to pass ( Read more... )

Good NewsMom got to go home Thursday evening (yes...the day after the surgery). She's been doing great. She is feeling good, and even her voice sounds lighter and a strain I didn't realize had crept in for the past couple of years (till it wasn't there) is gone.
