Story Woes!

This story is kicking my ass!!! It's like EVERY scene requires HUGE energy just to get started writing. The "***" seems to be the death knell of the writing continuing. EVERY time.

But I know about the options you could buy on a 1991 Corvette....

No red. Silver, or, as GM called it, "steel blue metallic."

Good luck!

By any chance does the "***" break up any long scenes that you could keep with until it's done, and then come back and write the interpolations later? I try that with flashbacks and dream sequences sometimes, drafting them first outside and then stitching them in on the second run. But of course not every story structure leans that way at all, I know. Or perhaps is it a switching of voices that is making a speed bump? Could you do all the scenes from a single voice first? Just some random ideas, just in case one happens to click...

*sudden vaguely tangentially related idea* Did you know that one of the stars of your SC&MK is one of the stars of my Young Blades? Bruce Boxleitner played Captain Duvall, commander of the musketeers. Just checking. :-)

I love that Bruce is working.

I like the idea of trying to write the scenes straight through. I may try that. First I'm going to try (yet again!) to write it in order to keep some kind of pacing.

The "***" is to break to the other POV, and...gotta work on getting to the bloody plot. I STILL haven't gotten to the bad guy or the PLOT. *sigh*

I have till tomorrow at 5pm to be DONE.

Oh, I have been there. Even when the writing is moving along at a good clip it's impossible and nothing goes the way it's supposed to, and when it's not moving along, which is much more common, it's like trying to push an elephant uphill in a tiny little wheelbarrow.

Rubber tree plant?

But, yeah...I'm shoving on the elephant still. I like what I've got too...and want to finish so it is complete...but...damn, that elephant's heavy and unwieldy.

Huh. I don't know the song. And that's not an age thing. I know the "high hopes" part, but that's it. But I'm musically illiterate, and the most OBVIOUS stuff is stuff I don't know.

I like the rubber tree plant thing!

I'm still fighting the story and am hoping to get writing done...same thing I keep saying and have been saying. I know a lot of what needs to happen and I need to FORCE MYSELF just to WRITE. I WILL finish this story regardless, because it's not going to win, dammit, but I will totally understand if it ends up going somewhere else ("missing ep" or just to ff.net with a reference to S7 or however it needs to be). I'm hoping to get stuff done this afternoon and tonight around making dinner and through the evening.

ETA: BTW, Husband, who DOES know music from noise (questionable in my case), immediately identified the "rubber tree plant" line. So, like I said, it's not age, it's just ME.
