I've never heard of vodka being used that way. . .FUN!!!! LOL.

I hope you guys are feeling better now. Sounds like you're having a wonderful(and much-needed) break - and I couldn't be happier for you. :)

Cheap-ass vodka (or other hard liquor) stored in the freezer is an old remedy for teething, which is why we have a 5-year-old bottle of cheap-ass vodka. :-) It was finabair who showed me the "kill of germs in your throat" application and it's REALLY effective even in very small quantities.

We are feeling better and the break is DEFINITELY wonderful AND much-needed.

Wait'll you see the Boy news in the next post!!!

My sister swears by very strong Ginger tea (she gets hers in Chinatown) for a sore throat. I've always used ginger tea for touchy tummies, but I could see where it would be good for a sore throat as well.

I do that during the day for really sore throats--grated fresh ginger, boiling water, fresh-squeezed lemon, honey. Mmmmmmm.

(I was so uninformed that I thought mp3s were a tiny, approximately 1"-diameter CD-like thingie)

Yeah. I figured they were these cute little players with removeable disks and that's why they were "mp3 players" like "CD players" and...not so much. *grin*

Now I've got to find out how to convert a .wav file to a .wma or .mp3 file so I can have my favorite German song (currently on my hard drive) on there too.

And how to trim the Indigo Girls track with NINE MINUTES of stuff I don't want just to get to the "Philosophy of Loss" that's at the end of the 12-minute final track on the album.

And I've got to find a few more CDs of things I'd like to have that I may only have on tape...and find out how to get a few more individual songs that I like.

FUN!

I think some of the early models may have had removeable/replaceable drives, as I remember thinking this as well.

Welcome to the wonderful world of "all those shelves of CDs now fit in my hand!" It's amazingly addictive.

Dude, it so is. Right now my 30GB Zen seems like it will take FOREVER to fill, but I have a feeling I'll find a way. (Though it'll be a challenge, even with videos...)
