Hahaha, you win. God, I hope gas goes up to $5 per gallon, because I would gleefully pay $45 to fill up my tank if I knew the end of this SUV fad was imminent.
I'm with ya for the most part there. However, I do also have a pet peeve of going to places where EVERY spot is a compact spot. Some of these spots, even driving my little Subaru, it's near impossible to get into and still be able to open the friggin doors. I'm sure it's mostly just an attempt to squeeze a couple extra cars into a parking lot.
That said, I don't mind parking a little further away to get a larger spot for my van. A lot of times I'll do it whether or not they are compact spots up close just so I have some extra room to work (getting baby out of car seat, ect...). An extra 50 feet of walking won't kill anybody :)
