They called us today and it turns out that we really did only need the marriage certificate, so it was the woman who served us who was being a total git. The woman is sending us a letter confirming this so that we don't get hassled again when we go to get Chris' name changed. I'm not making any jokes, this is true. It's the most ridiculous and infuriating thing they've ever done, including when we requested a transfer of £15k to pay the deposit for the flat and they transferred £15 and blamed us ( Read more... )
