( When you think of the element helium, what usually comes to mind is its ability to make balloons float and make your voice go amusingly high. But while these properties are great fun at parties, they are not the only interesting aspects of helium. Although it may not seem so at first, helium is one of the most interesting elements discovered thus far, particularly when you try to freeze it. But every story has its start, and that is not it, so before we get into its superfluid properties, we shall first take a look at its history. )
