**HUGS** I'm so sorry about the remembrances of KC at this time of year. It's hard losing a pet.
I hope that you can eventually get all your cats to be indoor cats so you don't have to worry about them. Hehe! Crazy Old Cat Lady is definitely a title to wear with pride. If I could have more than two, I would.
Enjoy you holiday. I hope it's quiet and better than you are expecting.
Losing a pet is always hard. It's been 15 years since our family dog died, just after Xmas. She was 15 years old, but the house felt very empty without her.
I hope that you will soon have the means to move out and take your kitties with you.
I still miss some of our dogs we had years ago. I'm sorry to say that at the time, I sort of resented them, because I was the one who had to take care of their needs (even though all but one were supposed to be my dad's dogs - they were originally intended for hunting pets). But they were good dogs, and I wish that my family had done better by them. (The cats we had back then too - the very first cat we had, was never spayed and wound up having at least two litters before she got outdoors for good and we never saw her again. :( )
It's precisely because of those past experiences, and what happened to K.C., that I adamantly believe in keeping my pets strictly indoors. I worry about my critters. :/
