Why dont you try looking in NoVa ? Last check tons of people you know live down here, and its equally metro accessible, plus everyone I have ever known to have massive apartment problems ? They lived on the MD side of DC. Literally, everyone. Youre metroing into the city anyway, so is there a reason, aside from the convenience of not changing your license or tax info and a slightly shorter move, to only look up there ?
You mean aside from the fact that then I'd be even farther south than I am now? ;)
I've browsed through listings. One or two may even end up on my list. I just don't know the VA mass transit stuff as well as I do the Maryland stuff (and I don't know the MD stuff all that well)... and most people I know in VA don't use it 'cause they have cars.
I just know more people in MD who can give me tips on how to get from point A to a metro station, I guess.
NoVA is really expensive near most of the Metro stations, but if you're willing to take a bus for five minutes (or walk a bit over a mile), the price is a lot more manageable.
My street (Columbia Pike) is a major busline. A few other areas (Route 1 comes to mind) are, as well. akilika can probably give advice on the public transit around here better than I can, though. All I know is Fairfax City stinks in that regard. EFC Metro seems to have cheaper housing near it than a lot of the other stations.
Virginia also has significantly cheaper taxes-- which are offset by the car tax to a degree, but as a non-car-owner, you would win on that front.

Can I have the address? Maybe I know about where you're going...?

(And what you wrote sounds almost exactly like something that was written in my 1992 high school year book...) :)

That's the best reason I can give...

Of course, if you're looking to move to warmer climates... I could use a roommate. :)
And I even know I wouldn't have to worry about having to kill you and hide your body. ;)
