Made it out to DSW in Bethesda with little-to-no problem via bus. Much more pleasant (and direct) trip than getting to Lakeforest Mall, that's for sure
( Read more... )
I have that problem with the Bethesda DSW as well. I've had a bit more luck with the Pentagon City one-- though that likely only helps for women with size 9 feet. ;)
And I'm glad you delinted your dryer-- my Dad just had a lint fire in his house last week that would have burnt the whole thing down if he weren't home and the alarm company didn't monitor for fire. (He had no clue they did-- just a lucky break.) They really ought to put something in the little glyphs inside the lid stressing the importance of cleaning out the exhaust vent.
Yeah... I'm pretty on top of the de-linting. I think that most of what I mucked out of there was left over from before I moved in. I hadn't realized the space where the lint filter sent went down quite as deeply as it did the last time I cleaned off the secondary screen.
I really don't like the inside back of the dryer lint catchers. The ones I'm used to are the "pull the screen out the top" ones that I grew up with.
And I almost made the trip out to Pentagon City today. I think I'll hit it up tomorrow after the interview. After that, it's back to the Internet for shoes.
What type of shoes are you looking for? I have a pair of brand new black boots that are a generous size men's 10. I desperately need new boots myself and I bought them on impulse, not even thinking to check the size. :/
Well... kinda looking for some everyday shoes to replace the well-worn Sketchers Alley Cats that I should have gotten rid of a couple of months ago.
Also looking for the "perfect" shoes to go with my new charcoal gray suit (which I'm kind of hoping to never have to wear...). Extra bonus if they go with other things I wear for that "slightly above business casual" look.
Or something like that...
So, probably not boots.
I'm not cool enough to wear boots all the time. ;)
I feel your pain! I have very similar shoe issues--most women's shoes, whether they're sneakers/work shoes/boots, do not fit me correctly. They're either too pointy, don't have enough arch support, or are just shaped wrong. I literally tried on 50 pairs of shoes at DSW before I realized it just wasn't the right shoe store for me.
I think your size is very common, so that's probably why they don't have many things in 10-10.5. My friend has the same problem--she's a women's size 8-8.5 and apparently that's the most frequently bought size for women.. ;)
But I simply cannot justify taking an hour (or more) to get to Lakeforest when I know that it's a 30 minute drive (most days).
Also, when it comes to shoes, I have yet to be able to go there when I need new ones and when the ones I want are available. It's really kind of crazy--every time I've gone there looking, the Sketchers have been nowhere to be seen. (Last time I just happened to show up when they were having some big-ass sale on women's shoes--and that's all they had on display where the Sketchers would normally be!)
