Weekend of Deep Thinking...

Friday, as my head was still spinning a bit from reading through my old journal, I picked one of the three things I could have gone to and headed out to Chi Cha lounge to have dinner with enlightened77 and a bunch of people I didn't know. It was a good night, gave me the chance to practice my pitch for my How to Crush Without Being Crushed book again and ( Read more... )

nights out, introspection, growth

What does it mean to Crush and not Be Crushed exactly?

That would be the non-fiction book that I'm working on.

It's about taking a grown-up view of the romantic crush and using it to better understand yourself, what you look for in real relationships and what you bring to a real relationship.

The idea was actually born out of a conversation I had here in LJ-land back in August.

Punchline to this whole thing is: At the same time I decided to do the book, I broke the first rule of my crush theory. (That would be: Don't tell the other person you have a crush on them.)

I like the title, I imagine that that title alone would help it be a good seller!

Thanks.

I certainly hope so.

Now all I have to do is, uh, write it... :)

Should the situation arise again: you can park at Pentagon City mall and use the metro there. They close the automated exits after midnight, but I think the exit with the cashier is open all night.

Neat. I'll keep that in mind. I almost parked somewhere in Rosslyn and grabbed the metro there. Then I got stubborn.

That, of course, was after seriously considering driving into DC.

It's all good, though. Well worth it for the company and food. :)

If you were in Rosslyn, you really did take a wrong turn! :P

That would have been the fifth or sixth wrong turn...

I was all over the place. If I hadn't been so frustrated with myself, it would have been funny.

hehe... cool. :)

Most of my friends are.

Which reminds me... one of these days I'm going to have to meet you and all of your friends. You seem to accumulate as many interesting people as I do.

This past Saturday hf and I went to his company's holiday party. They played the music so damn loud we literally had to scream our conversations at each other. It was like they were trying to force holiday spirit in us through our EARS.
