As is often the case, I'm not exactly sure how to put what I feel into words. How does one judge another's commitment and enthusiasm? By what they say, by what they promise to do, or what they ACTUALLY decide to do? Do they consider your time, your feelings, and your happiness? Rich I love your entries because usually i agree with every word. I myself often feel alienated from people my age, people I would like to hang out and get to know because drinking and going to cheesy dance clubs seem to be their only hobby, thats why I feel so lucky that you me and our group of friends all found each other.

As for are the incrememnts of joy being worth the devestating blows thats up to you to decide. I was in a similar situation many years ago and it wasn't until i saw said female doing similar things to other people that i decided it wasn't worth it. Problem is the incriments of joy seem to erase the devestating blows and you end up working for those even when BS is the norm. I guess in that way you can kind of empathize with the girls who like the ass-holes because they're working hard for that one moment of self validation where the douche bag treats them like a human being for a second before going back to his normal ways.
