Adashino/Jin, 4, sword?

Yeah, that's Samurai Champloo's Jin. -_-;

disclaimer: like the writers of samurai champloo, i make stuff up. except with even less historical research. at least there is no hip-hop soundtrack?

It is easy to think about the art of taking lives and the science of saving them and the tensions that exist -- but Adashino has yet to heal a wound by philosophising, so he concentrates on the things that matter, instead: blood, torn flesh, thread. It's strange how much one trusts sutures to hold.

At some point, Jin says: "I have no way of paying you."

You might have let me save some of the others, Adashino thinks. He knows it is a silly thought. "You don't have to ( ... )

*staaaaaaares*

I was half-joking with the pairing, but oh my god, this is GENIUS. Adashino has yet to heal a wound by philosophising! You might have let me save some of the others! Jin's certainty contrasted with Adashino's inner turmoil (that ultimately doesn't keep him from being a doctor)!

Thank you, really, from the bottom of my heart.

Fuu & Ginko, 1, bubbles? For symmetry.

eheh, you're very welcome! i tend to interpret 'pairingfic' as meaning 'fic where two people sit around and have some sort of awkward interaction, obvious attraction optional', so, um. hope it worked out, anyway. ^_^;;

---

"What's this?" Fuu asks, admiring the film that shimmers across the loop of wire. She blows against it, watches it tremble; blows harder, then gives a happy little gasp of surprise as a stream of bubbles floats gently away.

"It's something that isn't meant for fun," Ginko says, taking the bottle from her hastily and corking it before she can dip the wire loop back inside. "Don't do that, you'll attract mushi."

"I don't mind bugs," Fuu says absently. "Momo-san can chase them off, anyway." She blows another stream of iridescent, faintly glowing bubbles. "Don't be so boring, Ginko-san, you're worse than Jin was. And I bet you'd make a lousy bodyguard."

"You're right," Ginko says. "I would." There's not enough solution left on the wire loop; Fuu sighs, handing it over, and for some reason Ginko can't help but smile

Kyon/Haruhi, 3 (or at least as high as you can make it?), "radiation"

eheh, sorry about that -- made some mistakes. >_. not that this version is much improved. again, my apologies.

White Day is next week, and there are a lot of things that don't bear thinking about. I don't just mean the creepy, 'platonic' (ha!) cards that Koizumi has handed out to the whole SOS Brigade, either. No -- depressingly enough, the fate of reality rests on my choice of romantic gifts this year.

(That's hardly an exaggeration, given what happened on Valentine's Day. I'll spare you the gory details. Suffice to say, it involved Asahina, an innocently-intended box of chocolates, and a record-breaking sulking fit by our dearest commander.)

So what, Kyon? you might ask. It hasn't been the end of the world yet. Why sound like the conflicted male lead in some sad, warped parody of a shoujo manga? Oh, you'd think it would be a simple matter of making up for Valentine's Day by doing the expected thing next week, but no. Haruhi, being Haruhi, might consider a box of chocolates an insult. Or consider me too boring and predictable ( ... )

<3! I really do love your Kyon's narrator voice; it always matches perfectly with the series. It's also brilliant how you capture each of the characters in a few choice words--e.g. Koizumi with his platonic Valentine's cards. This was wonderful!

I think writing angst&doom for Suzumiya Haruhi is a pretty difficult endeavour (I think it was sub_divided who said that it's a surprisingly lighthearted series despite the existentialist premises), and I think this comes as close as one could possibly manage. ^_^

you are too kind! but thankyou. ^_^;; i have this terrible, uncontrollable need to give itsuki more screentime (so to speak) than he usually gets in canon, for which i apologise.

part of the reason i like kyon so much is how it's hard to make him angsty, really -- and part of the reason i like the series is how it manages to be cheerful but complex, i suppose! though i suspect that writing itsuki/kyon angst would be dangerously easy. hark the yaoi fangirls squeal, etc.

I have only the vaguest idea of who Jin is, but the Adashino/Jin one is amazing, with those killer (no pun intended) ending lines.

Kou-chan/Kyouya, 1-2, bonds (take this in any sense of the word you please) :D

by now i, too, have only a vague idea of who jin is, but i am glad you liked that one! samurai champloo is a supremely entertaining anime, though. you should give it a try, someday. :D

"Come now, Kakinouchi-san. Our families will benefit from these... closer ties."

My father's empire is doing well enough without me, Koutarou thinks. But petulance doesn't become him, so he gives Kyouya a strained smile. "It's an interesting offer, Ootori, but I'd rather not. Anyway, isn't Suou already ( ... )

ahaha brilliant, as always! ^_^

Kyouya being his usual persuasive self (with shades of the bedroom!Haruhi scene), and just enough ambiguity about his motives XD
One wonders how Koutarou came to be in Music Room 3, and why (or how)Tamaki wasn't.

My father's empire is doing well enough without me, Koutarou thinks.

aww, poor kou-chan. i suppose this bumps the angst-rating up to a 1.5, perhaps?

eheh, thankyou. you flatter me, as always. ~_^

i wonder too, actually. perhaps you can enlighten us! my boring version would just involve kou-chan being a new transfer student who wanders around the school and falls headlong into the host club. kind of like haruhi's entrance, really.

ahaha, yeah; when in doubt, just include kou-chan's father issues. :\
