Sadness.

I don't usually mind staying late at work if I can leave around 6:30.  Not only has traffic finally calmed down by then, permitting Delaware-style driving (ACCELERATE!  CRUISE!  BRAKE FOR RED LIGHT!  REPEAT!) for the trip home, but I can listen to Marketplace.

Biggest bummer ever?  It's just too depressing to listen to economic news right now, not ( Read more... )

Listen to the Phillies game instead. The economy is a loss...but the NLCS series is a win! Much cheerier. (c: Nothing makes me smile more than our pitcher going 3/3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored! Even Kai can't top that.

Library. Audiobooks. See if you can find Mp3a of Roosevelt's Fireside Chats. That was back when we had a President who actually knew how to talk to people about economic hardships.

Ugh, don't listen to a good president, cause that'll make you depressed too.

I would suggest trashy mystery/romance/vampire novels. The Amanda Quick ones are narrated very good. :) And they're terribly trashy.

But if we shut off the news and listen to a good president for another month or so, hopefully when we stop doing that, we can then start looking forward to a presidential upgrade, at least!

Well, McCain could always win and then die a week after they swear him in, so we could have a side/downgrade to look forward to. Palin's just as aggressive, and even more crazy about "values."

Your optimism is cute, though.

There was a Kai in the future segment?? I missed it, because I actually didn't listen... I love when he gets all whimsical though.

And yeah, DUH, there was a Phillies playoff game to listen too. I told geepgal I'd forget about the 4:30 game and indeed I did.

Hee, you know what I'm talking about though? Terrible on the car, but rather viscerally satisfying. 8)
