Lovely and poignant--I especially like the line "Two coats, leather and grey wool, take a place in her wardrobe. If he ever sees them wrapped around her like blankets during the bad nights, he says nothing."

This is absolutely gorgeous. Painful as hell, right from the final line of the first section, and it gets worse from then on. First Jack's missing, then Rose is.

The structure just adds to the overall effect of the fic: all threes, triad, the triangle, two-thirds, three separate narratives, each narrative being from a different voice. So cleverly done, and yet it feels so simple. That's talent.

Love this.

The structure just kind of sprung organically from the prompt--67% is the closest rounded number that equals two thirds, and it was very easy to springboard from that to the threes, especially thinking about what happens with the characters throughout their stories.

It almost feels like a cheap trick, that my brain works like that. *shrug*

Oh, that's beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. As Wendy already pointed out, there's complete beauty in the simplicity of the structure of this fic. And does it hurt.

That's it. My personal canon is that Jack lost his WWII greatcoat during the year on the Valiant, and the Doctor replaced it with the one from Rose's closet.

Lovely series of vignettes. Those three were magic together, and stories like this capture that magic perfectly.
