Hmm, I  watched Miss Marple: Murder at the Vicarage night before last and it was quite good. In spite of the lack of the James factor(the last one I saw, I think it was the Moving Finger, had James D'Arcy in all his gorgeousness) I love virtually all Brit TV shows and under that subheading I love all Agatha Christie and definitely Miss Marple-I ( Read more... )

Ooh. In that case must definitely check tv.com for when the next showing of Miss Marple is. I hope it's on at a time when I can actually watch. Thank you!^_^

eep! i don't know what it is about miss marple but i can't help but there's just something between knitting and solving crimes that makes me love the show ^_^ hehe

and *sigh* i'm not too sure about the new jane eyre. but then again i'm never too sure when there's a new remake or based-on classic movies. but the trailer looks somewhat promising so maybe it won't be so bad :)

Youtube is EVIL. I keep clicking on things and I shouldn't. DAMNIT.

Why do they keep making films of certain books? It always confuses me. I guess the previous versions weren't all that good or something? I mean, how many Hamlets can we have? How mane Jane Eyres can we have?

Ha. *extends hand in sympathy* Join the club! That place has been consuming way too much of my time recently. As for the other, tis simple. Money. In general anyway. Plus the fact that there haven't really been any definitive versions of either-the other Jane Eyres are only okay and I'm sure it's the same for Hamlet. (although I'm not sure how far that holds true-they made a new P&P when everyone knows the BBC is the definitive one. But whatever) I think they keep re-making period movies because they know that the core audience of people who love them(like you and me) will keep watching them. ^_^ Did you hear that they're also talking about re-making Sense and Sensibility? (with Andrew Davies ,the guy who adapted P&P, no less) Now THAT is something I am excited about. For some reason I never liked the one with Emma Thompson-yes, gasp, shock and horror. I know nearly everyone loves it but it just left me completely cold.

I prefer the movie version to the BBC version of P&P. :D

Haven't you seen the version of 'Jane Eyre' with Timothy Dalton? He's a wonderful Rochester. Here's a link to the info on IMDB: Jane Eyre (1983).
