6.19 Mommy Dearest

So the season is slowly but inevitably  coming to an end and  the writers bring things together and solve one problem at a time - in  that episode which was a huge surprise  for me it was defeating of Mother of All. It might be due to my absolute lack of interest to the Civil War but I thought we would see the boys do it in the last episode but  still it was impressive - Dean making himself a poisonous trap for her and - indeed there are two smart kids in the family -  and her elimination were impressive. I appreciated Julia Maxwell’s  acting very much - not so of Samanta Smith, but I might just be tired of monster-Mary.

I was very surprised to see Crowley again, Castiel have been deciding not to play fair  and having  a  secret agenda which he knew  the boys would not approve - not at all, because I became suspicious of him since the time he tried to talk  Dean out of reuniting Sam with his soul.

For now he seems to still be their friend but at the same time he alienates from them more and more - it’s sad to see that the qualities in Dean and Sam he once admired - that compassion - he now finds “crippling and dangerous”  just like his fellow creatures - angels, but at the same time I start  hoping that  he really might be gone in season 7 and there will be really just Sam and Dean and Bobby.

Because I just got tired of all that angelic stuff and Castiels’ comradery with brothers just   does not override that, not to mention that lame slashy jokes which are just obscene and really dumb.

So for now I want Castiel out of the show and Crowley to be the next bad guy for season 7 as opposed  to the  brothers who just found the way back to each other and learnt to be the team again and Bobby who once again proved that he was a really skillful hunter in every fields - from working with the witnesses to the police and computers, and maybe some other fresh blood - like Joe and Ryan could be.

So for other moments which made the episode pretty good one for me - I liked the Winchesters  being the best hunters out there and  trusting each other completely - that scene with them entering the Mother of All’s den - it was extremely cool, but at the same time human because of each other - their decision to save kids  who reminded them of themselves first, that drive in Impala was a pure win.

I like Dean being that proud of his Sammy who ganked Gordon with the chain and that Sam was so eager to call the monster-hybrids Jefferson Starships that was a nice sign of brotherly respect and affection.
