Hybrid Theory

Several years ago, I was tricked into purchasing a bootleg of Linkin Park's album, "Hybrid Theory". While some may have been satisfied with that (it was cheap and the sound quality was good), I was not. When I purchase an album, I typically like to get the real production package, complete with linear notes and the knowledge that the band at least ( Read more... )

I used to have multiple copies of that album when I was younger!
My first copy was a burned copy from my childhood friend. I would listen to that like 90 times a day.
Then later in time I bought a hard copy at the store since my other copy was starting to wear out and skip.
The last track on that copy had a glitch that made the song suddenly end for absolutely no reason. In retaliation I sold that album to a used/trade store to get some money. :(
Bottom line, I loved Hybrid Theory a TON. But I would also say that my tastes have significantly changed from those days. :)

That's the thing about Linkin Park. It seems that most people discard them as they get older. In the past decade, they've gone from being the band of the 00's to being pigeonholed as the favorite band of the immature youth and emo wrist cutters everywhere. I don't quite understand it, because their music still sounds pretty good.

LP was the most technical band to come out of the rap/rock scene made popular by Kid Rock. Lately I've noticed that they've been trying to distance themselves from that, as they deliberately move into an Alternative sound. Ironically, I've noticed that Dream Theater, the most technical Progressive Rock band, is doing the same thing, moving more into metal than they have in the past. Unlike Dream Theater, I don't think Linkin Park will stay relevant if they change their sound too much, though.

I don't have much of anything good, but if you want to trade CD's of interesting junk and other assorted bric-a-brac by mail, I'm game.

Really? Because I still happen to have the aforementioned copy of "Hybrid Theory." Do you want it? If so, what all do you have to exchange?

Nothing worth your prized copy of Hybrid theory. I've got some misc CD's that have a few things I've recorded off the radio, some artwork, and writings I've done. Like I said, junk, that probably should be traded for junk of equal or lesser value. I've got some games, too, like Day of the Tentacle. I just like getting mail, so whatever.

Considering that my copy of Hybrid Theory is a bootleg, trading it for junk sounds good. What other old games do you have that you don't want?
