Wayne State & EMU are willing to take me, as they're willing to take anyone else who shows up and signs their name.

Burn. It's so true. But I'm sure you'll do well wherever your degree is from. I think once you get out and into the workplace the prestigiousness of your education matters less as time goes on. As one of my professors told the class, when we encounter a Yale Law grad out in the world, we shouldn't be surprised to find out that they're not smarter than the rest of us, and sometimes not even as smart as some of us.

Thanks for the reassurance. My favorite professor actually told me something similar recently.
"Grad school is what you make it. You won't get to work with many top-notch people at Wayne State and they might not be all that invested in your success, but that means you'll have more space to do the kind of work you want."
And of course she pointed out that as long as I publish, publish, and publish some more, the Wayne State name won't drag me down.
And as for those Yalies, all that needs to be said of them is "George W. Bush." Superburn.
