Just Thinking
I was just rearranging my MP3 player when I stumbled across this song. It was my favorite when I was 4-5. My dad used to play it for me and I'd do my awesome uncoordinated little kid dance and he and his friends would laugh themselves silly. It made me think of him. I got a little weepy. He's been dead almost seven years and I miss him.

Magic Rocks
We're making them. And by "Magic Rocks" I don't mean crack. I mean colorful stalagmites kept in a jar of water. I always wanted some when I was a kid, but my mother thought they were a waste of money. So now I'm big enough to waste my own money and bought them, ostensibly for Olivia.

Isn't it odd...
That the primary reason I'm excited to have been offered the assistantship isn't so much because I'm geeked about the work, or that I'll one day be able to make punters call me "Dr. Mahfouz," but that it comes with health insurance?
And that I so detest public speaking that I'm sort of hoping my NCA proposals are rejected?
