This story is amazing, and I regret that whatever review I write for it simply won't reflect just how unbearably fantastic it is. I love the idea of Mercy's loyalty to Lex, which is supposedly absolute, being broken essentially over Lex's plan to kill his son for his own personal gain. It's such a human, oddly heartwarming catalyst for change, and I think sometimes we forget that no matter how fanatical Mercy is, she is still human, even if she's misguided ( ... )

Mercy is repressing her maternal feelings for Kon mostly because I didn't even realize that she was doing it. Occasionally i write a story where the reader ferrets out some significant plot point that I overlooked; thanks for showing it to me, and I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
