Damn it damn it damn it! Opeth tickets went on sale about 2 weeks ago! And they've gone way up in price since last time (oh, I have to find a new band no-one's heard of - curse Opeth's perfection and subsequent popularity and rise in ticket prices!) Anyway - if anyone is interested - and if tickets are still available - does anyone want to go and ( Read more... )

Well I would go with you! If I didn't live across the ocean from you...

Its weird to see someone else who likes Opeth, since no one I know around here has ever heard of them before.

Aww, that's sweet :)

I got into Opeth because (shame o shame) I loved the cover art of Morningrise and just happened to have some spare cash at the time. I fell in love with them of course, and fell hard. I think, maybe, one of the reasons Opeth has a fairly large following in Australia is because Andrew Haug (of my icon fame) is the radio presenter of the most listened to (probably) metal show in Aus, and he loves the band, I mean he really loves Opeth, and talks them up a lot on the show - so I guess a lot of people got exposed to them that way.

I'm surprised they don't have a bigger following over there, but maybe you just don't hang around with the right kind of people :P Hey - totally random question - do you live in Washington State?

Haha, that's not a reason to be ashamed of. Many of my current bands I listen to were introduced to me for terriblly stupid reasons. There is one band, Deep Forest, that I listen to only because there was a phase I was going through where I was obsessed with random nature things, and I happened to see Forest in the name and immediatly bought the CD. And one other band, Blind Guardian, has a song called The Dark Elf, which I found by searching for random elf stuff online. And a few other bands I've liked for some other cheesy reasons, too.

Do I live in Washington State? I wish! I live in the (unfortunately) sunny California. I'm not very far inward, yet I'm not close enough to the beach to get the cool air. Washington is where I would like to move, though, its always quite cool and rainy up there.
