That's a name that lets you wear a cape, y'know?

I'm not that into mecha--not into it at all, actually--but I'm going to have to watch Code Geass for at least a bit, because I understand the protagonist's name is Lelouche. Lelouche. How cool a name is that? I'm changing my own name to that right now and I don't even know anything about the guy.

code geass, stuff

I've been procrastinating on watching Code Geass, but I think Lelouche wears a cloak when he's Zero. Which is perfectly cool, because he's Lelouche Lamperouge^^

*delurks*

Also, he can control minds. And he's a psychopath. Have fun with the show!

*also delurks* The coolness is slightly undercut by the fact that his classmates call him Lulu. On the other hand, the fact that he is the epitome of the phrase 'magnificent bastard' more than makes up for it.

Code Geass is totally insane and over-the-top, and the world is a better place for its existence. I really hope you enjoy it.

LULU. Omigod. I'm 4 episodes into it and the first time they called him Lulu I thought it was brilliant. Is he really going to go all "magnificent bastard" on us? Because I love them guys. (I can't imagine he can out-MB Light Yagami, but it does look like it's going to be fun.)

Hee! Watch it, watch it! I think it's up to ep 15 in season 2 now. If you liked the twists in Death Note, you're gonna love 'em in this show. :D The last few eps of season one had my mouth hanging open. I'm only on episode 9 of season 2...trying to hold off so I can watch a bunch in a row and not have to wait. *g*

I've been watching a new anime called Nabari no Ou. And it is delicious! Check it out here. Have to be a member to see and download but definitely check it out if you have the spare time! The slash undertones makes me a happy fangirl. And so many delectable boys.

You might also want to check out the anime Spiral. The main character solves mysteries as well, but he's the cliched 'good guy'. However, it's worthwhile to check out. It's been many years since I saw it (watched it way back in '02 when it come out) so I don't remember the plot very well but the way the crime scenes are laid out and later on solved are original. And the mysterious 'Blade Children' run ya through a loop.

Thank you for the recs! I think it's gonna be hard for any series to live up to DN for me, but, yes, twists and turns and the like are what's likely going to draw me in. (Not that I don't like simple love stories and smut, too. ^_^ )

Yeah, I understand that. I have a hard time starting any new animes because I've seen all the 'great' ones and hardly any can live up to them! If anything check out the first ep of Nabari- the summary doesn't really give the anime justice. There's a bunch of twists and subtle humor that makes this a more than worthwhile new anime to watch. :)

OMG! In this world there are names so delightfully unusual that you're almost willing to have a child just so you can spend the rest of your life saying it as often as possible. Lelouche is one of these precious few.

But you have to take into account the fact that the little bastards on the playground would start calling him 'Lelouche the douche'. Which is why I'm never having children. :(

I have seriously bought stuffed animals in order to name them so that I could get the name out of my system. "This is my bear Caius, short for Caius Caligula." "This is my stuffed cat Lestat." Because I was afraid I'd have to get a pet or have a kid otherwise!

No matter what your kid is named it will be made fun of. I agree it would be better not to set them up for it with something that rhymes with "douche." But I remember Matt Groening displaying a list of kids' names and how every one of them would be perverted on the playground. Amber=Spamber, Matt=Matt the Rat, etc. I just read yesterday how Selma Blair said she was called "Smell-ma" as a kid.

(Your icon's killer! :D )

Oh yeah definitely. Kids tried to do it to me too, but the only thing they could think of was Crystal the pistol, and I was like, "Eh.".

LOL the icon is from a comic strip called 'Menage a 3'. I read this particular one, and I was like, "My god, this girl is my soulmate!", hee hee.

Does it make you enjoy your bear any less to know that that the name was spelled Caius but pronounced Gaius?

My only name torment as a child: "Hey, that's what I call my grandmother!"
