My boyfriend wanted our first-born done too, and it just wasn't going to happen, because ultimately, the mother has the last say. So really, he had no choice or say in the matter. But, when we were asked he just told the nurse that it wasn't being done. The only reason he wanted it was because he is.

Yes, I've told him if we ever have a boy, nothing sharp/pointy is getting near his little boy parts. He thinks otherwise, and he is still bent on it, but like you said, the mother has the last say.
I don't understand people, why would you put your child through pointless pain? They are able to feel pain, it's not something you grow into.

i totally agree, i think it is SO HORRID and barbaric. i explain to people that i think it is akin to cutting the labia off a girls vagina. When i talk about this to people, they are all EWEWWW GROSS NO FORESKIN IS GROSS. But when I explain that the skin on the head of the penis IS NOT SKIN, but is actually a mucus membrane like the skin inside your mouth, but it just LOOKS like skin because it is basically dried out and callused...they begin to come around to my point of view a bit.

Adding this to my memories because I think you're awesome and my boy has an uncut weiner. Everyone talks shit about it and tell me it's nasty and then my husband gets self-concious and regrets that we didn't circumsize our son. Anyway, thank you for posting this and I wish I could move to Canada, so I'm jealous of you!
