That was gorgeous and tragic. Like anyone can remember what happened ten years ago in a specific place with a special someone, only they get to (have to) do it over and over again. Except for Richie. 'Cos he's dead.

Somehow you managed to cover the entire Highlander universe in one one-shot. ♥

Yay! It's been a while since I did HL, and I'd worried about it. It felt like riding a bike in some ways.

I figure if anyone can give tips about living for milennia, it's the ROG.

I liked this. Nice use of the contrasts between Jack's situation and the HL-verse.

I like how you used the Highlander 'verse in illustrating Jack's quest for finding information, first on why he's immortal and what makes him different from the others, and later, after he has his answers from the Doctor, what it's like to deal with being immortal. It's interesting how Methos becomes this grail for him, as if because he's the oldest, he would have the answers Jack seeks, while as we know, Methos is just a guy - albeit someone who has lived for very many years. It is perhaps all the more fitting for Jack to finally meet Methos after Owen & Tosh have died and after he has had such horrific experiences and where he is seeking for affirmation that being immortal is good for something. All the more tragic that there isn't a real reason for it or way to go about things, other than to live life as it comes. Very nicely done.

I think what quite imperative for Jack, by the time Owen and Tosh are dead, and especially useful to get from Methos would be the memory issue. Obviously a hundred some years that he's had already is a little long in the tooth, but two thousand years is a huge chunk, and he's got to be worried/wondering about it.

I'm glad you like it. It's been rattling in my head for about a year.

I DO NOT SQUEE! (Pardon me while I make some kind of inarticulate noise...)

I love how Jack gets to meet some of our favorite Immortals as he seeks for the meaning of life. Each time he gets closer to what he seems to think is the answer.

In the end, what he learns is that life just...is.

Yeah, I like to think that's what the story is all about.

And the Jack/Rich action was NICE. Very nice.

It's good seeing you write Methos again. You've made me incredibly happy. There's not enough new Methos stories being written.

OMG I THOUGHT I HAD LOST THE TOUCH.

I might drag Methos out again, but I make no promises. I'd need a good idea, and I just don't have many anymore, you know?

I'm glad you liked them. I never write Richie seriously, so, hah.

I think the K'Immie one was my favorite. Why were so man y of them K names? did we ever find out?

I think the K'immie thing started as a joke. Or the writers were waiting for the cancellation, and just didn't give a shit.

Ah, Methos. Yeah, he deserves some awesome reason to come out and play. I'm throwing him into a STXI crossover. Hope it works.

Oh, Highlander. It was one of my favorite not-age-appropriate-at all after school programs. Lovely.
