copperbadge and I were going to have a "Senfeier-off" using cruentum's mother recipe. Eggs poached in mustard sauce. I was gonna take one for the team. I was gonna be brave.

Then Sam posted the pics of the finished product, and my belly said, "If that comes near me, you will see a deluge of vomit the likes of which only Tom Savini could design ( Read more... )

Oh that looks SOOOOO GOOD.

I'll show this to Mr Foxy so he can make it for me next weekend. I'll tell him you challenged him or something "YO, THAT GUY MAY HAVE A THOUSAND-YARD STARE BUT HE CAN'T DO SWORDFISH IN A WOK!" cause I'm crafty like that. Also, cause I'm lazy.

I was surprised at how much I like swordfish, and those steaks were 1.49 total! I can't argue with that!

I love it!

I make swordfish in sort of a boring way, with er... lemon. But it's a great dinner!

I bet that would be good, actually. I make tilapia with lemon!

That looks so good I might even be willing to try chili paste. (It scares me usually.) But I think I'd make it with halibut because I don't care for swordfish.

There needs to be a progressive dinner and all of us should go from city to city eating each other's food. I can't wait to get to your house!

Thai chili paste is pretty good, and it's pretty mild. I wouldn't recommend sambal for you.

Halibut! I used to love halibut, but they're so overfished I don't eat it anymore. same with chilean seabass, even though I love it. :(

COME TO MAH HOUSE. EAT MAH FOOD.

The next time you offer to make me dinner, I'm showing up hours ahead of time so I can watch you prep.

Or I can even HELP prep and you can show me where the f*** I'm being unnecessarily slow. I learn something new, you don't have to work as hard. Everyone wins. And then we drink beer.

We should pick something with a lot of prep in it so I can show you prep magic.

You want to hang out on CNY you can come any time you like. I cook all day, most of it prep.

I may just take you up on that offer for CNY. But if I can't make it early, we'll have to do something on another day. Probably much later.

Oh man! This post is awe inspiring, even though I think I'll skip the hot stuff. I'm a mild spice kinda gal myself, but I giggled through: The Making of Dinner, by amand_r; or What to Do When Life Gives You Swordfish Instead of Lamb
