Wow. Wowowowowowowow.

I've been to a Doppler scan.  It took a long time, the good endocrinologist (who has to be the brother or other relative of my former doc, because I finally remembered his first name - and they're not the same) went back and forth, and I was lying there on the bench wondering what that deep furrow between his eyebrows meant.  Didn't he see anything ( Read more... )

Wow, that's interesting. How do they do the scan?

In any case it sounds like a really good lead to follow.

Yay!

It's very interesting! They use an ultrasound device to test blood flow. So I got a lot of lotion on my neck yesterday. :-) It's a small handheld device, moved over the neck to detect the veins and arteries. Usually only the arteries - my doc hadn't used it on veins before. And it's an awesome lead!

Fantastic for you and maybe for the whole of medicine. Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah. But I can't believe you can't now bully-pulpit your doctors into working communally for your benefit. Territoriality isn't germane in your case and they need to get over themselves...

But hurrah anyway. And *** really *** intellectually interesting too, which is an antidote to boredom.

Hurrah indeed. I spoke to mum yesterday, I laughed and she cried of joy. And I've started working on the docs... *g* I've also just started to really consider what the result might be, like an end to the constant pressure in the head. That would be amazing. I am a child of scientists, and I feel my heritance coming to the fore. This is so cool and interesting, and I feel like I'm an explorer tracing unknown waters. "Wow, this river runs upstream! Wonder why?" *g*

as I said in my e-mail, this is fantastic news - I'm so glad someone is getting to the bottom of things

Your email hasn't made it here yet, but it's a long flight. Maybe it found someone to stop and have a chat with? *g*

But yes, it's fantastic, and it's a wonderful feeling to find a why.

I'm so glad they have found evidence for the symptoms you have carefully noted. Now you have something to visualize and something to fight against (or for).

You with your tremendous spirit and will *will* find a way to treat this condition. I'm now thinking of healing water flowing and finally being allowed in. *loves Berte*

Maybe I should sit out in the rain and visualise it being healing water cascading over me, purifying me? Because we're having some serious rain at the moment. And distant thunders.

Seriously, though - thanks! *hugs* I'm waiting for my GP to call me back, I find this having to take it easy very hard. But I need to at least allow time for the post to get there, don't I'? *sigh* Not really any point nagging when they haven't recieved the papers. *more sighs*

I think I'll take my "tremendous spirit" (thank you, I'm all a-fuzzy now) and go sit outside, under the roof and just be. *loves Mary*

Yes, it's better to know about something like this rather than have no sort of clue as to what is the problem, even if it isn't good in itself. I know what you mean about "feeling your brain" (at least I think I do!). In my case it is only occasionally, thank goodness. It's probably because of the migraine. I hope they can get some positive treatment for you from all of this.

I think I'd be happy to feel my brain occasionally, as opposed to the current not feeling it occasionally. And I'd think it's linked to the migraine, too. I can't say how sorry I am for you that you have to suffer through that, though. I think that's some of the worst... Yes, I'm very hopeful, and will insist on being so until they all tell me they won't do a thing. Which is just not going to happen. So yes. It shouldn't be too hard, either. I just hope they don't just look at the MS diagnosis and then coose to ignore anything else.

I don't have to suffer from migraine anything like the way you suffer. It's very occasional now, although I still get headaches and "feeling my brain" sometimes. When I was working properly (instead of the odd collection of work i do now), I got them frequently. I think I had a three-month migraine when I was pregnant. I suppose now, I don't get the conditions to set them off as much and I can lie down if I feel one coming on so I can nip it in the bud more easily than I used to.
