Wow. Wowowowowowowow.

I've been to a Doppler scan.  It took a long time, the good endocrinologist (who has to be the brother or other relative of my former doc, because I finally remembered his first name - and they're not the same) went back and forth, and I was lying there on the bench wondering what that deep furrow between his eyebrows meant.  Didn't he see anything ( Read more... )

Like you I am sort of pleased they found 'something' as it is a string to follow to finding out what the problem is and also that you are not imagining things, which people sometimes begin to feel when they can't find a definitive cause. The body is strange thing is it not? Good luck with the investigations (hugs).

The body is quite amazing. I mean, I've probably been like this my whole life! I so look forward to talking to my GP tomorrow. I was back too late to reach her today.

Finally there's a piece of string to follow.

Oh, that's good news! I know what you mean about it being bad news, too, though, but I would tend to agree that it must be nice to finally have a potential root cause you can follow up on. Mystery ailments are the worst kind. Until then, I hope you milk the restorative properties of water. Just curious, is there anywhere outside you particularly like to swim? I've been in love with outdoor swimming lately. Well, plunging, really. : )

Oh no, don't tell me you took up platform diving, too. Is there no sport that's safe from you, woman? :-)

No, just splashing around. When I changed my wording to plunging, I simply meant that I wasn't out swimming laps. : D I'm finding that being in the water outside lately just feels so remarkably refreshing that I'm wishing it on everyone I know.

It's awesome! I feel like I've been lost in the mythological maze, and suddenly I stumbled upon Ariadne's thread. It's even red. *g*

I prefer swimming in the ocean, but there are some nice small ponds and lakes in the area, and I love those. To lie with my head under and nose over I prefer the tub - no waves...

Wow, this sounds scary, but I share your joy in at least having something concrete to investigate. You now have physical evidence, as it were. Although a blockage in your vein does not sound good at all. But at least if they find it, they can do something about it, right? Shouldn't you be seeing a cardiologist, though?

I hope you can get to the bottom of this, and soon. It's better to know, even if it's scary. Not knowing what it is won't make it go away. But are you saying that you've had this inverted blood flow for 20 years or so? Were you misdiagnosed with MS? Or is this something more recent?

I am sending you good thoughts, and hoping you'll give us good news soon.

I've probably had this inverted blood flow my whole life. It's a congenital defect, and quite possibly the primary cause for my MS which is then a secondary ailment. It's quite fascinating. And oh, no - I can't see a cardiologist. I "belong" to the neurologists, after all. *rolls eyes* Nothing wrong with my heart. Just messed-up blood flow... *sigh* But really, the neurologists to check the venous flow in other neurological diseases, and they have all the equipment needed. I guess I'll get some contrast and a round in the MRI. Possibly.

I'm hoping this leads to something - piece of string, indeed!

It has to lead to something. I have proof something's wrong, and I'm not taking no for an answer. Actually, I think it's more like a rope... *g*

A mystery may lead to the solution. I giggled at he did indeed find something very interesting. Something he'd never seen before. Something he found so interesting, he took over 100 pics of it to document it

May this be the end of the string which leads to better health.

I think it's Ariadne's string, and I'm going to follow it out of the maze... :-)
