You make an excellent point. Although not everyone responded to my post, those that did, made the deal while they were, perhaps, not in the best position to make proper decisions.
Whether they would have made the deal anyway, they seemed to believe so, but the fact that that opportunity was not presented to them then, well, it speaks more than words.

I have learned to try to accept what I can change or at least focus on what I can.

I can change people's, wardens and inmates, attitudes. Simply because they are on the 'right' side, doesn't mean they are superior to us or have better morals, even though we might have failed at upholding them.
And simply because the inmates are on the 'wrong' side, doesn't make them inferior or damaged, in that way.
