Interestingly the pick up technique used in this video is the same as used in Central Asian Jajims:>  It's the same basic loom except it's body tensioned instead of staked out.

Felt artist from Mongolia that just joined the list.  On this page the last rug for sale is a reproduction of a Scythian design.  If I had the money laying around it'd be on it's way home I like it so much.

These guys are awesome!  Rurik and I really prefer to get music from instrumental groups as opposed to what you usually hear on the radio.  We enjoy a wild variety.  This band is my son's new favorite.  At 5 he says "this music makes my body move, play some more!".  The first video is an interesting remake of a radio tune with beat box and banjo ( Read more... )

It's 85 degrees outside right now.  It's supposed to be 90 degrees tomorrow.  Where did Spring go?  Wow.  I closed the windows and turned on the ac already.  I hope this isn't a sign of the summer to come.  Must go check the Farmer's Almanac.
