You know I think it is great that you have a job to which you can keep doing until something happens. Deeping life as status quoe to me would be a good thing.
I sure would want to deck a person for saying something like what that guy said. Geez!
If you really want to go with natural methods of bringing on labour, there's the 3Hs - hot baths, hot curries, hot sex. I could give you a long list of other things because I tried everything with my son (he was two weeks late and I was starting to get hassled) but to be honest, I wouldn't recommend consciously attempting to bring on labour because it can do more harm than good - it can get the baby all worked up without actually changing anything. Even a medical induction won't work if the baby's not ready to come (failed inductions are the highest cause of caesareans which is why I would never consent to one without good medical cause beyond we're fed up waiting or I'm x number of days past an ESTIMATE

Considering we were the only people in the restaurant at the time we were there this morning, yes, the waitress should be grateful.
I'm inclined to just let things progress the way they will. Interestingly, I seem to be having contractions when I fall asleep. I'm barely aware of them, except they seem more intense than when I'm awake.
When they wake you up and you can't sleep through them, that's when you know it's the real thing. Even then, you'll probably have a fair few hours to go, so that's when you get in the bath/bounce on your ball/have a shower (or in my case, watch feel good DVDs in the wee hours of the morning). You may even turn out to be one of those lucky women who dilate most of the way without really being aware of it - clearly your body is gearing up for things to happen very, very soon.
Definitely! I usually don't get so many comments just walking around town, unless I have the doggie with me. But at least their comments and questions about Una are largely inoffensive.
I feel somewhat awkward mentioning this but the only time that I didn't have my labour induced, which was with pregnancy #3, totally run by midwives instead of doctors, I actually did have my labour begin thanks to sex, the best remedy for everything. I had the oddest pain just afterwards, like an orgasm, but a painful one, and I remember wondering "what the heck was that?" My body started feeling odd over the next couple of hours and then labour began in earnest. If you can manage it, I'd try it, although this is the first time I've ever advised someone I haven't met to have sex.
Kung Pao chicken sounds like a wonderful idea as well. And walking is supposed to be very helpful. I'm waiting, but not impatiently - he'll come when he's ready and I'll be pleased to see photos and hear details!

And walking is very doable. I'm sure Una will always appreciate more dog walks!
