Self-Portraits on My Due Date

Jun 04, 2010 13:34

I had meant to take flattering self-portraits of myself during my pregnancy but didn't get around to it until the day I was due! One of the hardest parts was getting the draping right by the time the timer went off, but I ended up with a few keepers.

My only really flattering pregnancy photos. )

Thank you! I'm feeling good today. Don't know when the little guy's going to make his appearance, but we're ready!

Oh, these look fantastic! I love the lighting, and you look serene and glowing all at once.

Thanks! I had to be creative, because I didn't want to leave our place to take them. But I thought, "Hmm. Natural light comes in the window. Bingo!"

These are great shots. I think you'll be glad timing kept you from these shots until the last minute. ^_^ Shame the timer was being a pain.

Photo geek time - You should try converting these to black & white. I think the high key light from camera left would really lend itself to gray tones. It's rather interesting, but when you page through photographers who specialize in photos like these, they usually go with black & white.

Thanks! It's not that the timer was being a pain. It's that I had to get off the couch, hit the shutter, and then get myself arranged in 10 seconds. Trust me: you don't want to see the outtakes!

Funny thing is, my sister has already been playing with them in PhotoShop and send me a B&W version of them.

*grin* OK, small hint - never tell anyone marked by coyote "You don't want to see" anything. Because my first reaction was "Oohhh. I want to see! ^_^"

Actually, it'd make a great art exhibition - nothing but photos where the timer went off at the wrong moment. Hmmm.

Hope your sister posts the pictures! They'd be an interesting contrast, if you'll pardon the phrase.

LOL Right, I forgot.

My sister's not much for posting photos, but if I get around to doing my own B&W versions, I'll add it to the Flickr album where these rside.
