In my personal experience, you really need to "pick one" between breast and bottle. I never had any luck trying to trade off between the two, but I guess some people have had better luck than I did.
We're hoping we can get him to agree to do both, because it would be very difficult if I'm only doing breast feeding. That would mean I'd have to do all the feedings, and my hubby wouldn't be able to help out as much.
I recommend having a swing and a stroller. Swings, a baby will either love or hate but if yours loves it, it will be SOOO worth it. We had one that played music.
I recommend diapers and wipes (of course), diaper rash cream because, preventing is better than treating. I recommend plenty of very basic, easy on, easy off, washable outfits. Things with snaps where you put a diaper on are best. Several pairs of little baby socks since they are easy to lose.
As fun as they are, my kids never would wear hats. Shoes are ok but not really used until your child can watch so you can skip them if you wish.
Great advice. Thank you! My husband's boss just had a baby last year and recommends a swing, as well. He says it's the only thing sometimes that will soothe his crying baby daughter.
