Last night we said good-bye to another American Idol finalist.

The results were based on 36 million votes, which host Ryan Seacrest announced was the most votes ever for a Top 10 week in the history of the show.

Ultimately, you can say everything you want about Michael by using one word: nice.

I completely agree with your comments about Michael. Nice seems to sum him up. I loved the expression on his face while watching his video but I get the feeling he's going to be rather happy to be back with his family, probably more than he'll miss Idol.

The group song, definitely pre-recorded. I think it was Adam's magically disappearing jacket that secured it for me but the audience surely would have cheered more if it were live? I did like the girls opening bit though, I thought that was really nicely done.

I was shocked Matt was in the bottom three, that genuinely came as a surprise.

I think you're right about Michael missing his family. I hope they let him see them while he's on tour.

I did not notice the disappearing jacket. Good eye.

Matt being in the bottom was a shock. But hopefully, he won't be there again for at least several weeks!
