[Remus steps out of the library and into a cacophony of confusion; a quick skim of his journal reveals nothing much, only that there's been a sudden flood of new arrivals

soon enough he's wandering carefully through the chaos, grateful that he knows the town rather well by now; he keeps an eye out for anyone who needs help, or is causing trouble]

[deep breath, rapid fire question] What did we give Harry for Christmas?

I realise I haven't been able to see you in a while, Remus, but it's not my doing and you know it.

[And a slightly "what are you talking about" expression before he answers.]

A set of books called Practical Defensive Magic and Its Use Against the Dark Arts. You couldn't have forgotten that so quickly? Christmas was only a few months ago and his birthday's not for another two.

[slowly, he relaxes, and then he's beaming, and

[frowns] How'd I end up here? Granted, it's a bit better than clinging to an iceberg, but I'd rather get back to my ship...not the one that sunk, mind you.
