Pedicures

For the quad horsies, not for me. Farrier came this morning and trimmed up their feet. Everyone was nicely behaved, except that Tess and Archie each snatched a hoof away from him once. He says Tess is doing well for this time of year. She's been having dry contracted hooves in winter ever since I got her, but apparently between a feed supplement ( Read more... )

No plans to attend any more furry cons? Did you burn out, or is it something like not liking the size of the local con?

I took a year or so off from cons. While the longer travel distance from my current location is a factor, my desire to go has been pretty low too.

No plans. It could change, but so far I'm not impressed. MFF has grown too large and the focus seems to have shifted away from the workshops and idea exchanges that interested me and into just a lot of noisy entertainment.

Looking at smaller cons within reasonable travel distance (I will not fly) they seem to have little or no programming at all and just amount to oversized furmeets. "Let's hang out and see what happens." Mostly that just doesn't appeal to me.

As the attendance has grown, the signal to noise ratio has declined while the cost of attending has risen. While there are friends I would like to see more often, this just doesn't seem like the way to achieve that.

Naughty Tess, Naughty Archie :)

It's probably not a natural position for her so she uncomfortable or a cramp perhaps. Awww how nice she gives you licks ^.^

You don't have a concrete drive? Kitty needs a concrete driveway so his freshly cleaned tyres don't get dirty :D

3 days for $450?? That better be a damn good room, plus more for reg, workshops and other things O.O

We live on a farm, not in town. Only rich people have paved drives out here, and rich I'm not. ;p

Even if it's cheaply done and will only last about 5 years till it cracks and deteriorates to a point that you can't drive on it?

Nah, if it only lasts 5 years it isn't worth spending the money on it. If I make that sort of improvement, I want it to last long enough that I personally will not have to deal with it again.

I confess that I enjoy holding her head for this. She gets very affectionate and licks and slobbers all over me. ;D Probably sounds yucky to most of you but you're not horse mad the way I am.

That doesn't sound yucky at all... in fact, it sounds very sweet. :)

Good to hear her hooves are better, too!

Yes, I was really worried about her feet for a while. After she had that little foundering incident I've been afraid to ride for fear of putting too much stress on them, but this summer I'll have to get back into it.
