I actually had a great deal of trouble reading this chapter. It's the first time I've ever had to stop and leave the computer and then come back for a manga chapter, ever, and even then some of the pages never got fully loaded before I clicked to the next.

I'm probably in the minority, but this chapter felt so wrong to me and I'm trying to elucidate why in an LJ-post. It might take a while though to write it. Not because it will be super long, but because I want to get my thoughts across in a way that makes sense.

interesting. you mean it bothered you about how Takahashi is developing inu's character? somehow, i have niggle of that myself....

It does tie into that, yeah. Although honestly it's not how she's developing his character here, because she's not. It's regressing him. But there's a lot more to it. It's contradictory to earlier behaviors and statements, it goes hugely against the theme of him accepting him as himself, and it makes him ridiculously powerful. I have more gripes with it, but those are a few of them in a nutshell.

I just hope it doesn't happen again, or it backfires in a very nasty manner. *hides*

It's regressing him. well, i'm hopeful that she doens't do this, but manages to make it a way for him to integrate his own youkai power with out the help (or with less help from) the damned phallic sword.

What's your niggle? i'm still figuring this out. i think my biggest concern is that she WON'T find a way to have it really enhance his character. if she pulls of a miracle (see my integration point above), then I'll bow down and kiss her feet. but if she's just in it for the youkai rawr of the week, i'll be dissapointed and agree with your point.....

Hm... out comes Demon!Inu's power and physical cues, but the hanyou holds on to his mind? *ponders* Perhaps RT's trying to bring together the ending of the anime and the end of the manga?

It appears that only when Inu and Tet are 'one' can all Inu's aspects work together... maybe this is how Inu will accept himself as being 'just as good' as his brother? He hasn't sworn off using the Jewel to become a full demon in the manga, so this may be the way that RT is intending to avoid the inevitable confrontation between Kagome and Inu at the end, if he was still set on using the Jewel.

We haven't seen Demon!Inu since Ryukotsusei, when Inu made the conscious decision to fight using Tetsusaiga despite being in the grip of his beast, so I'm quite intrigued to see where RT goes with this.

Dang it... think my drabble was just side-swiped... you called it more accurately with him being 'filled' by his demon...

Perhaps RT's trying to bring together the ending of the anime and the end of the manga? yeah. that whole "tainted jewel" thing in the ep 167 almost messed wtih the original tet-controls-demon thing from the Ryukotsusei arc. and you're right, maybe this is taking us back to the original concept. i HOPE she's going to develop that issue more before they get to wish on the jewel (which i kindof doubt that they will)....

well, i don't know that i 'called' anything.... this is inspiring me to a couple of inu!youkai fics... but of course, they have to get in line.... le sigh.

but you know, you could easily adapt your drabble to where, when he gives her the rougish grin, he's fill with his full (youkai-feuled) strength, which is what fills tetsusaiga... he just had to know it was ok to bring it forth (kagome modeling it somehow)... if that makes any sense...

Hrm... you might be onto something there with the drabble. Instead of 'roguish', maybe a 'fanged' grin... she's startled because of his reddened eyes and stripes... but his beast is released into Tetsusaiga because her love has filled his heart?

y'know - I don't know why a guy is so attached to his dick (ok, well, literally i guess i get it), but obviously there's a connection to his inner strength there that we girls just don't fully appreciate.

and if you got laid more you'd know that a guy is NEVER STRONGER than when his dick is fully engaged

Crawls out from her bed... Squeeees weakly... I love the new Icons.. though one seems missing... I am so thrilled (as much as I can right now) that Inuyasha's character is growing again! And we get another reminder that Tessaiga isn't just some pretty sword that drives girls into a wild frenzy of hormones, that it too has it's own awareness. *whimpers* I love Youkai Inuyasha... Not see enough of him.
