Not bad. Actually that line about Kureno, the one that set Akito off, was hilarious and original. This was pretty much an Akito/Shigure fanservice fic, not that I mind them, but I don't usually read stories solely about them. So kudos to you for catching my eye with this particular story. It's nicely written, with everyone acting in character, and some real issues that were discussed during the manga, and even some that weren't, came up in a relevant fashion. I really enjoyed reading this. Good writing.

I left a comment on this several years ago on FF.Net, but I can't help it--I have to comment again. This is my favorite Fruits Basket fic, fullstop. I am so, so, sorry to be so late in responding to your comment. I was so delighted to get this feedback, and kept putting off responding until I had time to do so properly.

I am SO thrilled that you like this fic. I spent a long time writing and rewriting it, having it beta'd, and rewriting some more. I think it's the best piece I've done, and it's nice to know that people like it. :)

Hatori struck me as being the only one--with the possible exception of Kureno--who really GOT the Shigure/Akito relationship, and so having him be the voice of reason really worked for me.

I always felt that Hatori not only understood their relationship, he understood them both as individuals, and beyond that, he really cared for them; so it made sense to me that he would be the voice of reason in his Hatori-ish way.

These two always walk a fine live between love and dysfunction--I always shipped them because they seemed to, for better or for worse, deserve and complete each other.Yes, exactly. They do love each other so intensely, but their ( ... )

So, sorry, still not over how good this is. I've recently gotten back into Fruits Basket (thanks to JesuOtaku's excellent fan-produced radio drama, which I would highly recommend if you're not already listening to it) and I couldn't help but re-read this story ( ... )
