Ho Ho Holiday Extravaganzas

We had a busy holiday party weekend. Friday was our church's party complete with a live nativity scene, Santa, dozens of kids running amok and funeral potatoes. Pretty much par for the course. Saturday morning, Mike's work had a circus (yes, a circus) come to town for their annual Christmas party. The kids loved the fancy acrobats (and some were ( Read more... )

Ponderous Pachyderms.... lololol.... I love it.

The gingerbread house night is a wonder to behold. Look at that yummy neighborhood you all created!

It was a delicious neighborhood! lol I think Camille would totally live in (and eat from) a neighborhood like that and be perfectly happy. Me too.

I was chuckling through your entire post. Ponderous Pachyderms lol, I would like to hear the sentence you used that phrase in? What a full weekend. Your 2 girls looked so cute Sat night I wanted to eat them with a spoon.

Tim and I kept laughing the next day about how serious Mike was at the table with his preformed ginger house. Was he trying to use that other rock hard frosting that came with it? I kept telling him to ditch it.

We might need a Catchphrase re-match Christmas eve?

"I ate so much I feel like a ponderous pachyderm." etc.

Hell yes, we need a rematch! Us girls were off our game for some reason.

Mike used your frosting, I threw the other frosting away. :)

I love ponderous pachyderms. LOL...

Beautiful homes! I'm sure I would have ended up reaching for the glue gun as well. That icing just doesn't quite do the trick, all the time.

Looks like you guys had a blast!!

Okay, what are funeral potatoes?

Those gingerbread houses are awesome. Love that last pic of Abby next to the glowing tree. Beautiful!

They are a total comfort food/potato casserole dish that always show up at church functions, like funerals or large dinners of any type. I don't know if they are specifically Mormon or not, I think calling them "funeral potatoes" may be Mormon slang. They are divine though. I have the recipe if you want it. :)

A circus. They apparently are not feeling real hindered by the recession. :).

I'm glad I did not have to be judge on the Graham cracker houses! They are all darling. Not as darling, however, as that little Camille who grows cuter (and looks more like you) each passing day.
