On the mend

I had my gallbladder removed Friday. We went in at 6 am, surgery started around 7:30, and I was home by 1:00 something.  Like when I had my c-section, my blood pressure went berserk afterwards .. 200 over 112, was the last number I saw. They finally got that down under control and released me to go home ( Read more... )

That gas is THE WORST. After my hysterectomy I had that pain and told the nurse about it, who was very, very blase. I thought, "HOW CAN YOU BE CALM WHEN I"M DYING?" But she was right, it does go away. Eventually.

Keeping the kitties off the incision might require a suit of armor.

I hope things heal quickly!

Since I'm super paranoid gal, I'd heard about the gas and that if you move around more, it isn't as bad. When I was released, my buddy was parked about a block away and though it was rough, I walked with her to the car rather than let her pick me up

It helped considerably to have gotten the extra moving around in since I think I avoided the worst of it. I was still hurting pretty nasty that night but since I also got up and walked slow laps around the kitchen/dining area the next day, the rest of the gas ache worked itself out by then end of that day.

What a pair we make.
I hope recovery keeps going well. I'm surprised you went home so early. Granted it was nearly 32 yrs ago but I was in hospital for 5 days. I understand your pain. I really hope you feel better soon, mate.
