That sounds like an excellent way to clear your head and remember the other things that are important in life (giving things away, eating, shopping and relaxing!) - ok so shopping shouldn't really be in there but sometimes it's a great way to relax!
I'm with you on your soapbox. When we lived in Indianola, Iowa for a while, there was one of those places that just "give away" the donations to those in need, and I had a chance to observe it, when we dropped things off there before we moved. Everything was "free", unlike the GoodWill stores I (also) had shopped at in tight times.
The place was like a sharkfest with the people fighting over what and how much they could take. Ever see the film footage of UN rice being handed out in starving countries? The strongest grab it all, and the weakest don't get a chance!
Having to pay for items gives the customers some dignity, and also it matches economic function in the real world. You have to make choices about what to purchase with the means you have: your quarter could go for that Nancy Drew mystery or for a candy bar at the drug store down the block. You couldn't have both. That's real life. People need to learn this to improve their lot in life, and not just always be victims.
That is cool that you got out and enjoyed it. We loved Iron Man [saw it last night at the new Regal 4:30 show] But did not stay for the credits. sniff sniff We will see them when we purchase the DVD :o) So where do you go for the pizza grinder?
It's in a little plaza just south of Dimmick on Rt 42. It's low key, kinda like LaRosa's ... lots of tables that can be grouped together so kids sports teams like to go there. They used to make a pulled pork bbq sammich (toasted with cheese, mmmm) that I craved when I was pregnant. I was heartbroken when they pulled it off the menu.
Man. I need bbq! STAT! and a Frosty!
We'd love to get together for dinner sometime soon! He'll be here on the 13th. I look forward to doing something couplesy. It's been years ... wow. I can't remember. Seriously.

I really like their cheese. I often ask for double cheese, double pepperoni to guarantee total gooey yumminess. Man, I'm drooling here.
