You can blame westmoon that I dragged this one out and dusted it off and had another go at it. I'm not posting it to almoststories yet because the other three parts aren't there. I guess it'll all go there when I finish it, which at this rate will be 2012.

this story is so entertaining that if you're still working on it in 2012, i will be thinking, oh yes. good times!

so many great lines too. and i am with the others, viggo was perfect. so great.

i see the slashyness more in these last couple of chapters. i hope for more.

But seriously, brilliant as always. The banter, Viggo, the critiques of the films themselves, and Elijah's utter cluelessness that Dom is clearly already familiar with all his movies.

Lemme guess, Dom doesn't want to see The Ice Storm because of the ending, right?

It was killing me when I went back to the older posted chapters and saw my own responses to comments, where I was saying stuff like "Yeah, I want to wrap this one up next week." DOH!

I'm happy you enjoyed it despite the very very very long wait!

It seems that I owe Westmoon a thank you for making you dig this one up! Turns out that I missed a good portion of it, most likely bookmarked and then left to collect cobwebs in my file. I'm so bad about that! But now I've had the chance to read it all at one go, and it's just fab. I always love your dialog and characterizations, and this one does not disappoint. I love each member of the Fellowship ringing in and putting in their two cents, and I can hear each of their voices so clearly. Wonderful stuff! If it takes until 2012, I'll probably still be hanging on and reading!

I'm glad you like it! I left it to collect cobwebs too, heh. It's funny, sometimes nothing in the world can make an old story come back to life, and sometimes all it takes is a little nudge!

What a fun premise. I can totally get why Dom doesn't want to run down even the bad films (and OMG, B&W was awful) or watch what happens to poor Mikey in Ice Storm... but Elijah's inner monologue is priceless.

You know this makes a pretty amusing contrast to Superman, in which Elijah is all cool and smooth and into Nietzsche and Rilke, but here he's confused about whether rice = potatoes! But both seem true because you write them (him?) so believably... great stuff.

I'm sure that would make lots of people happy! Then again you have many excellent stories-in-progress and I certainly wouldn't want to press... Though maybe I'll go drop some more notes... :)
