kangin/zhou mi.

I patiently waited for the death of today./Miserable mornings. Neverending nights./alcohol/you are my kind of beautiful/the colours are all wrong/blueberry chocolate

Kangin is honest. When drunk, he is brutally honest and he makes sure Zhou Mi knows it.

"I'm--" Zhou Mi almost squeaks when Kangin pulls him out of his room, seats him in the living room and pours him a shot. All in quick succession, and Zhou Mi is left blinking at the air a keyboard used to occupy.

"Um?"

"We haven't ever really talked, have we? Best way to do it is over some drinks, I think."

Zhou Mi nods slowly, looking at the towering bottle of soju and then Kangin's slightly reddened face.

"Right... hyung." Almost as an afterthought, Kangin laughs again and gestures for Zhou Mi to take a shot.

After a moment of consideration, Zhou Mi does it obediently and gasps at the way it burns down.

"You know," Kangin starts slowly as he spreads his hand against the floorboards, the contrast barely there. Zhou Mi watches him, and places his own down, spreads his own fingers.

Kangin laughs as Zhou Mi curls his hand back into a fist and Zhou Mi looks up.

"Yes?"

"I've been waiting for today, for a long time."

Zhou Mi automatically checks the clock. And then the calendar, and Kangin laughs.

"It just, it isn't measurable in minutes and hours, or even time. You kind of know it, some here." His hand finds his breastbone comfortably, and Zhou Mi fumbles for his own, his hand still in a fist. He can feel his heartbeat gentle on his fingers, and he looks up to see Kangin look at his fist.

"Why, what's today?"

The words are a bit looser on Zhou Mi's tongue now, less precise, and Kangin has his eyes crinkled in mirth when he hears them.

"Today, today, yesterday..." Kangin chuckles, and Zhou Mi smiles, unsure.

"Hyung?"

"Don't you think the end of a day means something? It's just. It's so sad." Kangin has a faraway look in his eye, and he's looking out the window. Zhou Mi follows his gaze, sees the streetlights and maybe one or two stars. It looks like any other day.

"It's just night time, hyung. It doesn't mean anything, does it?"

Kangin puts his head to the side, smiling lightly.

"Do you think so? I think night time is prettier, rather beautiful maybe. It's just. Forever, you know? There's something, it feels eternal."

Kangin laughs lightly, and Zhou Mi fingers his own shot glass, unsure.

"Come on," Kangin says, and fills both their glasses. They knock them back together, and Kangin laughs lightly as it goes down.

"Don't you think so?"

Zhou Mi looks outside. The sky reminds him of home, because there's some cliché line lingering in the back of his mind about how the sky looks the same wherever you are.

"It's okay."

"Hmm, you think so?" He repeats it a bit differently, more thoughtful. "It seems like anything can happen at night, right? Morning just brings boring timetables, schedules and things we already know. It's kind of nice at night with no one or just one other person to be with. Do you..." Kangin hesitates, and Zhou Mi watches with some fascination as Kangin pauses completely and looks down. Caught in the act.

"Yeah, it's pretty. It's nice."

"You know."

Kangin looks up to see Zhou Mi close, much closer that before and with the ridiculous smile on. He frowns.

"I don't like that smile." It comes out more like a whine than he intended, and he's pouting. He is most definitely drunk.

"You're drunk aren't you?" Zhou Mi, the bitch, can probably drink him under the table. Zhou Mi laughs lightly when he places the shot glass down, suddenly confident, and his eyes are only partially glazed.

"I'm not," Kangin says, but the brush of Zhou Mi fingers against his jaw has him leaning into the touch.

"Not?"

"Drunk."

"I thought you would've said gay."

Kangin's eyes fly open, and it's then that he realises he must've closed his eyes. Against Zhou Mi. Dangerous move.

"You're my kind of beautiful, you know? More than night skies and alcohol and endless nights. More than stagelights and singing and the Chinese language." Zhou Mi's voice catches on the last few words, and Kangin wants to lean away from this infectious touch.

"But that's okay."

Zhou Mi drops a chaste kiss on to Kangin's cheek, fingers grazing the spot gently before he stands and walks away. Kangin lies there, fingers curled around his glass and half sprawled on the floor, watching Zhou Mi walk away.

He only realises it when Zhou Mi's already disappearing into his bedroom that one, he's drunk, and two, Zhou Mi's his kind of beautiful too.

(Kangin wakes up with a hangover on the couch, head pounding and his stomach trying to regurgitate itself.

He lurches towards the toilet, throws up, and looks at himself in the mirror.

Mess of myself, made a mess of myself.

He walks out, the empty apartment screaming at him in the silence, and sees a small packet on the kitchen counter.

Kangin!
I heard that chocolate's good for recovering!
Eat lots and don't forget to replenish your vitamins!

Zhou Mi ^0^v

He rips open the packet, takes a bite because he's hungry and screw his stomach, he needs food even if he is going to throw it back up. He chews for a few minutes before he realises that Zhou Mi brought over his favourite, though the filling is more purple than he remembered.

Idiot, he texts when he finds his phone. Colour's all wrong for the chocolate. Blueberry isn't purple.

But you like it anyway! :D!
