This week, we're learning more about show runner and writer J. H. 'Joel' Wyman. He started his career in the entertainment industry as an actor, dropped from view for a while and re-emerged as the show runner for FOX's cult fav Fringe, staying with this show until the end.

Thanks for this. I love this guy for bringing us the show, especially knowing he did such a great job with Fringe.I really do have high hopes for it.

I think he's so right about getting the right actors for the parts as it can be the difference between have a good show and a great one.

I love what he said about Michael, I've always though what depth he has in those lovely eyes of his.

Thanks! I didn't know anything about this guy, but he seems to have a good, creative head on his shoulders, as well as the administrative chops to keep a show going.

Build a show around Karl Urban? What a gift! Wyman reached into indie movie world for Lili Taylor, who is amazing. And then Michael...what a lovely, lovely man. I have such high hopes for this show.

It's amazing really to have such a high profile actor as Karl on the show. That doesn't happen very often. Love it. :)

Film actors occasionally take on a tv series for whatever reason. I was really surprised when Bill Pullman took '1600 Penn' last season. He's a devoted stage actor, but he liked the people running the show and the premise.

I had no idea he had been an actor first!

And I do adore Fringe so that his involvement there is a really good sign for Almost Human as well.
