There were a few things that Alex liked about this weekend. The first was that his parents had gone away for the week to visit some old friends, so Alex had the house to himself. The second was that he found the courage to tell his best friend that he was in a relationship with Jack and that said best friend had been accepting of the whole situation. The third was that he could spend as much time with Jack at his own house, not having to worry about hiding their relationship and being as open as they wanted to about it.

Alex was currently sat between Jack’s legs, his back pressed against Jack’s chest as they watched Role Models for what must have been the 15th time since Jack started to go over to Alex’s house.

Jack could only watch one film over and over and that was Home Alone. He thought it was one of the greatest films ever made, nothing could compare to it.

Jack’s arms were wrapped around Alex and their hands were linked on Alex’s stomach. Jack had his eyes closed and his nose was buried in Alex’s hair, breathing in the older boys scent. He knew what was going to happen next in the film so he had no intention of watching again anytime soon, so instead shifted slightly on the cushion making himself more comfortable. Every now and again, Alex would laugh at something that was happening in the film and Jack would smile into the older boy’s hair, gently squeezing his hands.

Knowing that he had someone he could do this with made him happy. Even if it was just watching the one film over and over. It made him feel safe having someone he was able to cuddle up with. He didn’t need to talk to them; what he and Alex were doing right now was perfectly okay.

“Hey Alex, you left this round mine,” Kyle suddenly appeared out of nowhere, Alex’s iPod in hand and Jack froze. “Hey Jack.”  Kyle smiled, moving to sit on one of the armchairs in the corner, Jack’s eyes following his movements.

“Oh thanks, Ky. I wondered where that went.” Alex replied, hands tightening around Jacks as he tilted his head to look up at him.

“Relax, it’s okay. He knows about us.” Alex whispered, leaning up to peck Jack softly on the lips.

“What? Why didn’t you tell me? I nearly had a heart attack just then!” Jack whispered harshly.

“Yeah but you didn’t did you. He’s fine with it, I promise.” Alex smiled up at Jack before returning to his former position.

“Can we help you at all?” Alex joked, knowing that Kyle wouldn’t be staying long enough to interrupt the time Alex and Jack spent together.

“Nope. Just came over to give you that,” He told him, nodding towards the music device on the arm of the chair. “I won’t stay long. This part of the movie is my favourite. Besides, I can see I’m interrupting your alone time,” Kyle smirked before turning towards the TV.

A few minutes later, Kyle stood up, turning around when he got to the door.

“I still can’t believe you two are dating!” He exclaimed, eyes wide.

“And I can’t believe you’re okay with it,” Alex chuckled, leaning into Jack a little more.

“Alex, I told you. You’re my best friend. I don’t care who you see. As long as you’re happy.” Kyle assured him, waving goodbye and a few seconds later, the two boys heard the door shutting behind him.

Groaning, Alex twisted himself in Jack’s grasp and moved so he was straddling the younger boy, taking Jack by surprise.

“I told you he didn’t care,” Alex told Jack moving his hands to rest on Jack’s chest. “And if I’m honest, he’s the only one I wanted to be okay with it. He’s my best friend, I don’t know what I would have done if he’d acted... you know.”

“Alex, I don’t want you to lose your friends over this. I mean, if you tell them and they don’t accept you, us, and then after, I dunno, a month, things just don’t work between us then you would have lost them. For no reason.” Jack mumbled, biting the inside of his cheek after speaking.

“Hey, look at me.” Alex instructed, bringing his hand to Jack’s cheek as he looked straight at Alex. “Don’t say that. It wouldn’t have been ‘for no reason’. You would have been worth it Jack. Don’t ever think that I would blame you for my asshole friends not accepting this. Please.”

“I’m sorry. I know you wouldn’t. I really do. It’s just, you have to understand why I sometimes feel like that.”

“I do, Jack. But I promise you, it won’t happen.” He smiled, pulling his bottom lip into his teeth, looking Jack in the eye.

He moved his hand from Jack’s face, placing both on either one of his hips. He began rubbing circles onto his sides with his thumbs, not breaking eye contact with Jack.

Alex slowly leaned forward, nudging his nose against Jack’s before brushing his lips against the younger boys.

“I promise.” He whispered, pushing his lips to Jack’s gently once more.

When he pulled away, Jack curled his hand behind Alex’s neck, pulling him back down.

Feeling Alex’s tongue run along his bottom lip, Jack immediately gave Alex access to do as he wanted. Their tongues rolled together carefully, making this one of the sweetest kisses either of the two had had before.

Jack moaned into the kiss, feeling Alex smile as the noise made its way out. He moved his hands to rest on Alex’s back, slowly moving them up under the hem of the elder’s shirt, brushing the small of hid back gently, before Alex pulled away.

“Do you want to stay the night? My mom and dad aren’t back until Tuesday…” Alex trailed off, cheeks going a light shade of pink.

“Yeah, why not.” Jack shrugged, then smiled as he connected their lips together once more.
