So this is actually two ideas of mine merged into one: Cuddy and House in couples therapy (!) and yet another take on Moving On.
Here's the premise: What if Moving On was exactly the same, except for three things:
a. Cuddy didn't go out with that dweeb. (Because. . .really Cuddy?)
b. House brought the brush over by himself. (No Wilson waiting in the

I love these moments without them saying a word but know each other's minds, it's beautiful.

THAT'S THE THING THOUGH, I know he does and she does him and it will never be reconciled because Greg Yaitanes/David Shore and co. suck ballz. /end rant.

(It's like, okay, okay, we get it already, they're done.)
I do wonder though, how the show would've managed to bring them together, even just as friends, in Season 8 if LE had renewed her contract. What House did to Wilson in Season 4 wasn't quite as unforgivable, but it was still pretty bad. . .and they managed to find a way to organically reunite them.
I suspect they would've almost had to have House save/help Rachel in some way (as I wrote in After the Fall, and I assume tons of other fic writers have also written). . .That would've been the only realistic way for House to get back into Cuddy's good graces. Now we'll never know. Sigh. (And that's why I keep on writin'...)
p.s. it's been proven time after time (pun completely intended) cute. ;)
