I started radiation this week. Therefore, I now have tattoos. The radiation itself is actually really fast- I'm probably there for less than 15 minutes, plus they listened to what I said about scheduling, and my appointments are at 4, which means I don't have to miss any school.

The machine that they use looks like it came out of Star Trek. There' ( Read more... )

I had no idea that chemo sessions were so brief! I guess that's a good thing, right? You're a rockstar for going through all this treatment so stoically. I hope those bumps on your upper body are nothing serious because lord knows you don't need any more problems.

Would you mind deleting the part about the Smallville pop-ups? The horrible gramatical error makes my insides crawl.

And finally, try the Oreo Cakester! It's AWESOME!

No, chemo is pretty long. My first chemo sessions were 7-8 hours each. But radiation is nice and quick, which is a great thing!

I'm just so stunned that no one has bothered to fix the Smallville popup after the first week.

That does sound really fast for a radiation treatment but those skin problems don't sound too good. I hope your physician can figure out what's going on there.

And yes, the spelling ability in this country is disgraceful.

I'm glad the radiation is getting going. Hopefully, it will kick that tumor's heinie into submission!

Is it possible the bumps are from the radiation? I don't know the timing of their appearance with when you started the radiation, but I know that radiation can have some side effects for a person (in addition to zapping cancer).

They started before radiation, so that's not what caused them. It was after I started taking Tarceva, though, so while it's not a "typical" Tarceva rash, the one doctor who has looked at them thought it could be that. I'm going to have my friend the oncology nurse look at them tomorrow, and try to get in to see my oncologist soon, as well.
